Reflection

Trojan Horse

Trojan horse can also be call trojan. Trojan is a software designed to damage your computer. It trick people somehow to tranfer them to their computers. Trojan horse programs cannot replicate themselves, in contrast to some other types of malware, like viruses or worms. A Trojan horse can be deliberately attached to otherwise useful software by a programmer, or it can be spread by tricking users into believing that it is a useful program. For example, you want to download a anti-virus program. You search on google and go to this site and it’s free, they say it all good and safe so you download it. When you finish download, you start to use the program but instead the program didn’t fix the problems, it is making a bigger problem. To stop and prevent it, you need to have a good antivirus program and you have to update it daily. Don’t download programs, files you are unsure about. A good antivirus program will scan through all the files you stored on your computer and files you download from the internet to eliminate the threat.

Phishing

Phishing is the process of fooling a person to give out there private information such as credit card number or passwords… For example, an e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information. To prevent phishing, you must turn on phishing filter on your internet explorer but most importantly. Don’t send private information to any websites or emails that you are not sure about.

Computer Virus

       A computer virus is a small software program that spreads from one computer to another. It might get involve with computer operation. It might be benign or have a negative effect. A computer virus may corrupt or delete data on a computer, use an e-mail program to spread the virus to other computers, and might even delete everything on the hard disk. These effects will cause your computer operate incorrectly. You get them by downloading files you are unsure about in your mail box, attachments sent on messenger or other websites. CDs or USBs can also spread viruses. The best way to deal or prevent viruses is to have an up to date antivirus program and you scan your computer daily.

Computer Worms

      A computer worm differs from a computer virus in that a computer worm can run itself. A virus needs a host program to run, and the virus code runs as part of the host program. A computer worm can spread without a host program, although some modern computer worms also use files to hide inside. You can get worms by downloading unknown attachments on email, instant messengers… To prevent worms, you have to keep your computer up to date with window update. You have to use an anti virus program and keep it up to date to prevent worms and eliminate worms. Also, be careful when download something because there might be worm, viruses…
